Has anyone's inventory been cancelled told it would be at later date

With the current wave of store closing sales ending at the end of September, I would probably venture a guess that the next round of store closings will be announced mid-September.
The store I use to work at usually has their inventory in June, but got pushed back into September which is the transition point with merchandise.
Are DM stops in at lest 3-4 a week !!!!
Expect your DM to come in early one morning and whisk the MOD to the office... Expect to be called to the office for a 'meeting,' which is really them reading off a sheet of paper to let you know the store is closing.
It's a great time to start updating the resume and begin applying for jobs. The liquidation process is draining, and unless you are retiring, the severance isn't worth it.
That's a good sign of the store closing.
