Al vs other CEO's

Does anyone have any perspective on Al vs CEO's at competitors? Positive or negative.

Indeed, all that mid career expertise and multi-basin experience provides such a strong foundation for corporate stability and future growth. This knowledge derived from long term vantage points buffers against the whims and uncertainty of the inexperienced and poor decision making. Yes! Anadarko, under Big Al, is such a beacon of hope!

Well, it was fun writing this. Back to reality.

Al values older employees with years of technical experience who have proven themselves over and over again (through thick and thin). He would never eliminate their positions at APC as he truly values their expertise, dedication, and service they have given the company. He particularly values and appreciates the dedication and service provided by highly skilled staff members who are over forty years old with many years to work. It must feel good to work for a company which is run by so many competent leaders. Thanks Al!

Al is an amazing man. He's the best. Definitely not a slick-haired, slimy Wall Street goon.

Unbelievable. Careers are destroyed and lives are turned upside down while the CEO gets a 9.2% raise while the company is losing billions of dollars. Did this really happen?

Enough said per the Houston Chronicle's article on executive compensation. Many got laid off in 2016, but Al got his money.

From Chronicle:

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. lost nearly $3 billion last year, but the compensation of Al Walker, CEO of The Woodlands-based exploration and production company, rose 9.2 percent in 2016 to $18.7 million.

I exercise daily. Work my um, what's the correct number? 9 hours, yeah, that's the number. Take long lunches. PTO? I use it all. Because all those Fridays off just don't allow me to do all those things I'm supposed to do on MY days off. I'm the model APC employee. Only I don't do squat because you report to me.

At least don't make it obvious that you're not busy. You're just putting a target on your back.
