I've been working for Genesis for 14 yrs. When I first started the benefits were desent we got an attendance bonus at the end of the month 50 to 75 cent raises every yr now they took it all away to getting no raises taking Easter pay away and we r poorly staffed they say ppl keep calling off and quiting well that's because management don't care about there employee's. there is no incentive to stay there and to pass all the state inspection every yr and only to get a thank u or a bonus that's taxed and it only comes to 10 cents extra every hr u work for 7 months . At the meetings when u voice ur opinion u get told ur a dime of dozen u don't like it leave well that really helps the morale in the building the last 3 a cross the board raises we 25 cents when bills, health care, gas and so forth keeps going up the job is not worth the pay if u think ur going to make money with this company ur wrong my opinion on this I give the company 1 percent out of 5 for a job. For a top 5 fourtion company they don't value there employee's

Since the company went public--making money by forcing the "worker bees" to be MORE productive and cutting time with patients to the bare bones--"don't want to provide any "free" service. Nursing Homes cut recreation staff, operate at the minimum or less. Stockpile patients for long periods of time sitting in Wheelchairs for hours. Skin issues are common--yet federal and state surveys miss these issues as corporate staff do their "tap" dance--and make quick fixes--and stage the facility to appear in compliance. It is awful--after 18 years with them both in the NE and South-in management and as a direct service provider in rehab-my leaving was met with comments on easing the budget due to my pay and time accrued--which I was unable to use, as time off was denied. VERY bad taste remains.
