Legal Advice About Severance

Has anyone had a lawyer look at their severance paperwork? Anything to note? I'm still waiting for mine to arrive in the mail.

I hate to say it .. they didn't have to give anyone a severance package. You're lucky they did. BBBY, like every other retailer and companies out there, can layoff based upon what they deem as what's best for their business. I do not agree with how they went about it, However, we can all see the writing on the wall. Brick & mortar retail is a tough and will continue to be. They all need to change their approach and business model.

I'm an associate still employed. 1 week pay for every year. 16 weeks max. You have 21 days to consult with a lawyer before they want you to sign the "no sue" clause. 7 days to revoke after you sign. Get an attorney 2 create ur own serverance money. Remember there afraid of a lawsuit. Turn the game around, apply 4 unemployment Financially its a tough move but this isn't my first Rodeo with them. Doing the same when my time comes. I have good attorney friends. I'm ready to cut their throat. Did it before. I study law. They walk on eggshells and i just do my job without sacrificing my life
