Thread regarding Kmart layoffs

Told not to reorder layaway boxes?

Apparently there was a district wide email saying not to reorder the cardboard boxes we use for repacks / layaway. Anyone else get an email like this? There are about 6 stores in my district so I find it hard to believe we'd all be going under.

We have always been told to save repacks from truck for layaway and to not order any cause of cost. Some years we still had to. It is nothing that unusual

We just use the boxes that other merchandise comes in. We even have used detergent boxes to ship items for online orders.

Most of the stores that are closing are sending their left over layaway boxes to their sister store. our store closed last month

AT LEAST YOU GET LARGE BAGS. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ORDER THEM ANYMORE BY ORDER OF OUR DISTRICT MANAGER JOE WHAT'S HIS FACE. I THINK HE HATES US!

Those boxes are expensive. My store ran out of them last fall and has been using clear bags and large store bags since.
