I have not heard of any OPS cuts ? where were the Network techs and BSTs cut ?
"I heard from a very reliable source that the company is looking to lower the amount of BST and NT postitions."
You have a good source. Today, 8/7 we let go of a bunch of network techs, a few BSTs and a few OSPs.
Execs from Broadband Express have been in and out of the LR offices the last month. Maybe they are thinking of contracting out the CST work? Just a thought on my part. Does the labor contract allow using contractors for union jobs? Might be a good question to ask your stewart.
They have not been using clec techs to install systems in my area, actually it is the other way around in my area.
They have been using CLEC installers in the ILEC areas for business systems. The only ILEC that they seem to be wanting to keep are the actual installers for the circuits, DSL and customer DT.
I heard from a very reliable source that the company is looking to lower the amount of BST and NT postitions. I was told that this is on the ILEC side. Everything this source has said so far has come true. We call this person "the oracle". This source is very high up in the company.
