Layoffs are not next Thursday. Windstream made the layoff dates effective as of next Thursday 8/10 so that those laid off can keep their benefits through the month of August.

This was Tony's last ditch effort to save his own rear end before his contract is up and they can him for letting the company get this way.

With the stock losing 36% today, I have a feeling that there's a bloodbath around the corner. Hang on tight boys & girls. Don't look at your 401k, since the company match is in stock. But, no better time to repurchase $90 million of stock when it just tanked. Wonder if Tony figure this out while hiking in the French Alps?
