How to keep going?

There's is a lot of anxiousness, fear, vile energy and company bashing on this forum right now, so to move in another direction, could you share with us what got you working in this firm and what keeps you going, and still working here at BBB?

For me, it was and still is the money, and i still like what i do, but this uncertainty drives me crazy.

If anyone needs work in the DFW area Dillards is hiring and they pay great. Go to Dillards.com and select the area. I'm a manager at Northpark in Dallas.

In 05 the company was great. Over time it drastically changed. Still the kiss a-- policy that was written in pencil. That 1984 Oregon Trail computer software they called JDA that nobody could hardly figure out.

• return policy changed

• no more Dept mgrs

• hiring jr dept mgrs to do the same task as adept mgr but for a cheap wage 💵 vs 💰💰💰

Receiving mgrs were making 50, 60, maybe even 70k to open a box. Times were great. I remember customers call in a fake complain & bbb would send them a $25 or $50 gift card just for the inconvenience. For some of the customers the store was a rental place. I mean repeat customers that always have an issue with some product. You never see them make an initial purchase but you'll see em in the refund line with a sob story. I was on the phone with dyson....

I wonder how many managers were let go from the Elmsford store- you know, Marty's home... I'm guessing zero so he can continue to live in la la land with his artwork. Good job BBB, keep the useless positions of district "unsupport" staff and fire the ones in the stores. The only thing I ever learned from my DM while with this company was what he ate the day or weekend before. Good info glad you still have your job

It was the pay, the insurance, the 15 days of vacation I accrued, the security. That being said, it has been a depressing place to work over the last two years. I'm glad I'm gone. Sorry to say, but I think the managers who were cut got the better deal.

They switched me to hourly in 2015 and to be frank with you, I just do not care about this job any more - I come in, clock in and clock out, do what they want me to do and go home. I used to care, I was engaged and I was looking for opportunities to make things better, to knock it out of park.

Not any more, it's just a job for me and it looks like I may be let go soon anyway.

The company changed...
