How bad does a store have to be if you close it at the START of the holiday season?

I guess as the @tac said if your district is doing bad it affects you big time. However they can still close you depending how your own personal sales are just doing.

@OP - Don't let some know-it-all with an attitude get to you! An intelligent person would clearly understand that you were referring to a corporate district/market area and not a scientific geographical location. Please continue to keep us posted on any further insights you may have!

Sorry for the geographic mistake. If all you care about is to be correct about some minor mistake instead of listening to someone who knows what they are talking about, then have fun when your WV (midatlantic?) store closes in the next month. Sorry, but WV and eastern OH stores will be the next round of closings in late August.

When did West Virginia shift to the midwest? The tectonic plates must have really been active recently.

It doesn't have to be bad just has to be a store in an area which they are closing. Right now it looks like they are closing stores in the mid-west OH, KY, WV, MI, etc. It has to do with the way they deliver merchandise to the store. Our store actually made money most years but we were in an area (District) where many stores were not profitable so they closed us down because they were not going to deliver to a lone store far from other stores. We closed last Nov.
