Next week the transformation will continue. Some will be caught off guard because they probably know the locations they service depend on them, however they are not needed through the liquidation and into BK. Game over. Size 10,000+ of the last hard working people.

@gqc You don't necessarily know that the same things will occur at the Sears stores as the Kmart stores. There are different marketing vehicles for Sears versus Kmart stores, etc.
fkz- Not neccessarily safe. Kmart has already gone through these cuts and reassignments. The only ones left are Sears stores. Pay attention to what policys and procedures and cuts come out of Kmart. They will be implimented at Sears soon after.
Ok can anyone tell me if this is kmart or sears?
So sears leads and asm'are safe..
What starts at Kmart will make it way to Sears. Kmart cut ASM's from salaried to hourly last year. Now they can only work while on the clock. I would assume that if Sears still has salaried managers they they are going this way soon. We used to only have a salaried manager open and close but that went away a few years ago and now we have certain associates who can open/close and do cash office.
- most on here are looking for true statements worried about their jobs -
If anyone is 'worried' about their job then they darn well should be looking for another - even out of BK it could be a LEAN company with no relation to what it does now
Please when sharing this info give some sort of information stating where this intel came from .... i csm post things that are not true all day long ... but most on here are looking for true statements worried about their jobs ... so where did you hear this information
Dont forget the positions of ASM i heard is being eliminated not letting them go ... its a title change to an hourly position with a pay cut to a supervisor... so if you want your current job its yours at a pay cut... or severance and walk away.
Personally sign me up for the severance so i can walk away with my head held hi and NEVER work retail again
No one has confirmed. Was it only the Kmart store managers who had these meetings?
Our store barely has enough key carriers along with the SM and one ASM to maintain proper opening/closing coverage. We lose even one of them, much less the ones that would likely quit if increased pressure was put on them from one being sacked, and we would literally not have enough people to properly open and close the store without forcing some people to work seven days a week.
They should just close it up, these massive layoffs are getting ridiculous and stores are at bare minimum staff
I take it that Kmart ASM's and some leads will be eliminated.....any word on HR?
Is this only happening on the Kmart side?
Kmart side m. Sorry. Some stores are getting more cuts than others base on sales and sales trending. It's going to get worst. This isn't the last of it for this year.
Is this Kmart or Sears stores? The ASMs at Sears are salaried and if this affects them some will be glad others won't be happy with this change in salary at all.
Must be just on Kmart side for that? I know a lot of sears stores went too hourly ASMs last year based on sales
All Kmart asms are salary non exempt. With they being said, the cuts we have to make are pretty much set in stone and any asm
Can figure it out. I am a sm on the east coast and attended a meeting today.
I should Have specified salaried ASMs, I know it is based off sales thresholds. I know not all ASMs are salaried
You're wrong. Kmart ASM clock in and out and only work 48 hours.
This was Kmart specific. AP already went Shared Services and isn't solely under Kmart or Sears any more. AP isn't part of this.
I don't think anyone has any ideas on what is happening next week... just on this form you have someone saying LP is fine, then LP is not fine, sounds like someone trying to stir the pot. However, the ASMs going hourly, will probably be all sales based... cause they can work the ASMs a ton of hours now and not pay overtime, so they would probably lose money by doing that.. going in too Q3/Q4
i just find it interesting that they have not gone after the full time employees yet. I suppose it is a matter of time
My store is not losing ap. The market ap manager wasn't even in attendance to this meeting.
LP is NOT safe not tomorrow am!
Leafs are being let go. Asms are getting covert to hourly. Lp is safe at this time. I'm a store manager and I'm giving this out as next Friday is my last day as I head to Walmart with an offer over $100k which doesn't include bonus
If you figure between Kmart and sears 5 managers and leads per store that doesn't even get you too 10,000 people
If you arent 100% sure, you shouldnt post this as it is a rather nasty post.
OP whats the source I am sure if this is legit manager is going bye bye.
What source?
