Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Can we please get some actual merchandise into our stores?

We keep getting slammed by our supervisors for not making enough sales, especially the DM, but there is nothing to sell that people actually want to buy! I am not even sure how many people I had to turn around last week simply because we did not have what they were looking for, despite having it listed as a product we carry. You want better sales? Stop laying off good people and instead give us freakin stuff to sell! /rant over

I recently went into my local home depot. I work in the electrical department at lowes, so of course I checked out their electrical department.

Their main electrical aisle is ten feet shorter than mine, but they carry about 50% more VARIETY in products than we do! More products in less space equates to better selection for the customer!

It's no secret. Not alot in stock. Light bulb selection is a joke. Prices on most things are highest in town. Firing ppl won't help a thing. Keep the knowledgeable employees, fire the idiots in corporate who are making the big bux and pushing prices threw the roof . Firing a manager of a department cause he can't sell a stove because home Depot has the same stove for 75 bux less is stupid.

Lowe's always gets the 2nds in all merchandise. They never get 1st pick in anything current or new. The buyers haven't a clue as to market trends and buy based on cheap knock offs and cost vs what customers are actually looking for. HD has had water resistant laminate Pergo flooring for over a year and Lowe's doesn't haven't anything to offer customers. HD's LED light bulb selection is much much larger while Lowe's is spotty and hit and miss. HD gets full credit from Samsung and LG on appliances while Lowe's doesn't. Just look at the PSAs vs the MET teams. 1 MET person does the work of 4 PSAs in the same time frame. It's really sad. Lowe's will always be number 2 in everything until the CEO/President and Upper leadership completely change.

Ex DM retired and came back as part time stocker!!

You are absolutely correct with your post.....the wrong people are sending the wrong products to the stores!!

The most common items are out of stock regularly.

I laugh as I throw stock, putting 3 years of BS on the shelf and looking at holes everywhere else!

Many people shop online before ever setting foot in a store. They are often confused by the Lowes web site as to what is actually in the store vs. what can be shipped to the store. Adding to their confusion is that they may not even be shopping your store online. Next time you are at work use google on a store computer to look up something local, say pizza. The results are from North Carolina. The customers internet at home or work could be doing the same thing.

And I agree with needing product in the stores. Lowes keeps sending us more of what we already have and none of what we are out of stock on. It would be nice if the department manager could scan what we are out of or low on and get more. Oh wait we don't have department managers so no one is doing this important job of letting lowes corporate know we need more of what is selling.

Do you get the feeling that Lowes is making this up as they go along?
