Blowout Sales Starting July 9

So the blowout sales are July 9 at most stores. Does anyone have any details?

I have checked the Kmart Retail Services portal and OWB, and it's strangely silent about the sale. I guess information is only available via email, which I do not have access too. I was able to find some stuff on Pebble, but nothing too detailed

Also weird is the lack of monthly planner information. Are we still getting BTS merchandise?

Just another way to try to make money...too bad they can't. Kmart does everything wrong.

From a Northeast region Kmart: For a traditionally dead time of year (the other being January), my store is doing the same financially as this time last year, which is better than being down in numbers. However we are down in pools and patio sales but it is being made up on apparel and sporting goods. We are seeing more people coming in and shopping... the thrill of the hunt is on! Feedback tells us these will be repeat shoppers with us.

Sounds like what Kohls does for its "lowest Prices of the Season sale"

Back to School has started shipping into stores as of Week 22. Some should be filling counters in some stores by now.

The Blow Out Sales really are a different type of sale that we hope will become a once or twice a year thing that will differentiate us from competitors. We will still be a sale oriented retailer. One of the comments in the office compared the Blow Out sale to the twice yearly sales that Ikea stores have. Their big sales are literally twice a year, and people watch and wait for them.

The marketing/public relations team are actively promoting "sale across all categories" in July.

While the savings haven't been made public, you can expect to see something like 30% off home items and 40% off apparel (exclusons being Signature by Levis, Deal Flash, and Dickies). In-store coupons that are category specific probably won't work in conjunction with the Blow Out sale... we are told this type of sale is considered a special event, excluded on most coupons.
