Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Decisions being made were not for our customers

I retired after 26 years and my husband retired after 28 years. It was fun working for Sears but I saw the writing on the wall.

I knew the decisions being made were not for our customers. It's sad how things are going down. Good luck to everyone still working for Sears!!!! Do know this: There's life after Sears! And I'm proof :-)

God bless you all.

I worked for Sears for 35 years and was fortunate enough to retire at age 56 in 2008. When I first started to work there it was a great place to work where they actually cared about us. As the years went on the employee's mattered less and less and that's the sad part of almost every company. When you stop caring about those that work for you they tend to not do a very good job and that's what happened to Sears. I have seen this coming for a long time. Eddie Lampert has destroyed Sears that's all there is to it.

I opened our Sears store in March, 1997 and closed it March , 2017. Sold appliances and was darn good at it. Loved my job, the people I worked for and worked with. We were a family. I saw the sales going down, and knew what was coming, but I'm still quite upset about loosing my job, especially since we ALL know WHO caused it and will reap the benefits. Took my retirement, because I don't want to loose it- but not ready to retire yet- new job offer starting September !!!!!
