For the last two weeks our store manager has been out and about doing clean sweeps in other stores with other store managers and employees from the market. This isn't a common thing so I am wondering if any other markets have the same thing going on lately? If so, that's probably a good signal that there's going to be a big change again and they want to get it clean before it happens.

Yes, some store managers were sent to other stores to get them organized for the layoffs. Like HRs and LPs, SMs will be mutli-unit as well. 2-3 stores per SM in most markets.
Market walks for the 4th?! Lol. It's not a huge shopping holiday and our ad is junk for it this weekend too... no major deals that get people into the store.
Clean sweep is going through departments and aisles and re doing bay by bay, check planogram, spray paint, dust, current displays, lights, pricing, etc - make it grand opening ready
Nothing in our market. Our store manager is here in store and helping get things ready for the holiday.

nothing like that in our market. just the standard corporate market walk crap this week. everyone running around like chickens to put silk on a pig's ear. typical junk.
Had another store manager in my store today. Just hanging out. They walked the store a couple times. First time I've seen that.
