To all the people who are protecting Murthy, please qualify why he is worth $25 million? You can talk about his education, possible discrimination, immigration, etc but I don't see you providing any data on why he was worth the money. Qualcomm happily let him go because he didnt do anything with QCT. Qualcomm became a one trick pony with snapdragon SoC with its tarnished reputation due to the 810, which was released under MR's "leadership", mind you. So you can thank him for that. Second mistake is focusing so much time/energy trying to penetrate low-mid tier markets when the TSMC and UMC already had full market ownership. Murthy alienated a lot of top talent at Qualcomm (ironically many of which were Indians and Asians) who left and made NVidia as successful as they are.

PS - He's not from India so you can spare me any feedback about xenophobia. He's of Indian descent but is a Brit.

No matter what his loyalists said, fatso was a failure at Q. He didn't make it to the (single) president of QCT and was sidelined before he joined Intel. This is fact.

There was no justification to hire anyone for $25 million. I'm a sense, Murthy is just another expensive Intel acquisition that has not produced results (just like McAfee and all of the others).

As his loyalists say, Murthy has managed to achieve a lot of success, but that has almost exclusively been personal success. Achieving success for a larger organization where everyone benefits is an entirely different measure, and on this one he has little to show.

Worth at least that much. Have not had so much fun watching the drama unfold since before Renee left to be ceo someplace. Can't wait for the next chapter when we see who will get BKs chair.

Yes Murthy is very very smart. If one has worked with him they know the value. Plus he is accomplished he is first generation immigrant, put up with huge duscrimnation, and succeeded, he is richer and smarter then others who had more opputunity and blew it. Ps Dr. MURTHY TO YOU OR JUST boss.
