Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

It is a shame...

After many years at Pioneer I had to leave when it became apparent the only direction was down.

They are not going to merge or acquire anything outside the Midland basin. Which is extremely unfortunate because it lead to great talent going to other operators.

All the other new postings could easily be filled by current employees. The technology groups are pointless. Nothing of value really comes from there. The reserves engr and reserves lead openings could come from some of those people. But this is why pioneer has had layoffs over the last few years...keeping over paid folks on board working inconsequential assets that they will never invest a single penny into, but 75% of the staff working the assets are Sr. Staff or Advisor.

yeah...and their EOR reservoir engr posting is a joke. they will never do anything like that. that project is simply to keep a certain couple of people feeling relevant. EOR in shale is so unproven and expensive, it makes no sense to even consider.
