FYI. HCA bought three hospitals in Houston and the hammer will be coming down soon. Hate to say it, but expect layoffs, salary reductions, and huge changes to policies and procedures.

This is accurate. HCA purchased 4 hospitals and took on about 150 physicians in the acquisition during 2018. We were promised by HCA that they would keep the physicians and staff but within 6 months, they laid off over 59 physicians and 300 medical office workers. On top of that, they fired the physicians yet are enforcing no-competes. They only laid off acquired practices, not HCA practices already in place.
Just found out that Tenet took on many loans from employees related to education, moving, job etc. Those belong to Tenet and HCA will not be grandfathering them. So looks like many will have to start paying off thier loans again.
Tenet has very little HR policies, so major changes will be coming from that direction as well. Tenet's salaries are above area average so those that are staying may not keep the same salary, as you will becom HCA employees.
Also HCA will not be finding jobs for those that have redundant positions. Unfortunately that means many will be laid off. If you have a direct medical related position you should be safe, but pay and other benefits are up in the air.
