What do you guys think - when will be the next big round of layoffs? I know, it's all rumors now, just polling what folks think.

Strategic layoffs are taking place weekly. Just because you aren't aware doesn't mean they aren't happening because they are in fact happening.

With the cost side of the equation doing better then goal it all comes down to revenue. If revenue meets goals, no layoffs, if there is a miss. Because revenue is lagging a little I guarantee execs will be getting wacked. I guarantee people like Roger Anderson and some of the other legacy VPs will be gone by the end of the summer, if not sooner. NetApp has been and will continue to whittle down groups, especially under-performing products and overlays.

We hit 106% of our numbers. There's no falsifying those facts. BTW, how does it feel to work for Dell? LMAO

The SF teams that were "absorbed" have now been relegated to useless middle-management and all of the former SEs are no longer in Sales. They're all CSEs. Lots of them were laughing at the end of April when a lot of long-time NetApp Core folks were RIF'ed. They all now are the ones with the biggest targets on their backs, and are the most expendable within the entire organization.

Actually, not BS or lies. They really are tracking the average age of departments. Sorry to burst your bubble of NetApp infallibility. Good company. But this is reality. Even Dave Hitz called for the company to get younger in a global all-hands.

Referencing "older workers" being laid off in small batches. Simple bullsh!t and lies.

It is happening now. Mostly older workers are being laid off -- quietly and in small numbers. NetApp leaders have been tracking the average age of various departments and is moving to get younger. Just reality.

GK has given his team 6 months to deliver on the first set of initiatives planned in the new fiscal year. He has threatened that heads will roll if they cannot deliver and has vowed to terminate some fairly high profile projects and their people to keep the company's head above water. He is very focused on either righting this ship or preparing it for sale.

For those of us who have been busting their asses day in and day out, this really s---s.

I would say probably 4-5 months. That's the way they have been operating for a while now.

How many more can be cut? The key to the earnings will be top line growth. With all of the head-cutting profit is likely to still look okay and the seniors and directors are lining their pockets already. Unless top line is growing things will be looking more and more like the classic business atrophy where the people at the top slowly pillage the company into obscurity and wait for one last big paycheck in a fire sale scenario. Hope not but hope is not a strategy... Watch your 6!

Bring it on! Rumors of 1 month per year sounds good. Even at 2 weeks per year is ok.

Just because you live in fear doesn't mean you should go scare others.

Obviously you're not happy working at netapp or know you are a viability rather than an asset to the company. Please quit and stop spreading fake news to justify your misery.

If you are trembling that their life will be ruined if they lost their paycheck, I suggest you reflect long and hard about your decisions and the way you chose to live your life. Change yourself instead of blaming institutions for your flaws.

The "rumor mill" seems a lot quieter than in the past, maybe that is a good sign (for those still working at NetApp)?? Maybe Wednesday's financial 'news' (to Wall Street) will give a clue on how things are looking (and how they went over the last year or so) ??
