ConocoPhillips corporate announced that we are going to have layoffs and lots of them. When is this going to happen? Someone said the read on here that the first layoffs will be in October. This is aweful to tell us five or six months in advance and just let us wait. Has anyone heard of any time lines?

Sorry but I look down through all the comments about Bartlesville below and I don't see the words terrible or horrible used anywhere? Bartlesville has had it's time and now it's time for Bartlesville to go.
I love how those who are against Bartlesville claim the people are "terrible" and "horrible" while 90% of said comments are borderline personality disorder. You all really should get checked out.
Bartlesville is full of wankers!
Shut down ConocoPhillips operations in Bartlesville now! We can handle their work in Houston with no problem.
You are right! We need to go ahead a shut down all ConovoPhillips operations in Bartlesville and close the offices as soon as possible.
We do not act. We think and over-analyze and plod. Then we do what's best for our managers. RSU's get vested in August. That's when the 2018 budget and confidential actions in the LRP will be approved. So the layoffs will occur in September.
I would rather know in advance and be able to plan my exit than to get called into a conference call and have my personal things mailed to me!
I don't know what's worse, hearing about it far in advance, or not (and just assuming there will be layoffs). The fact is, our beloved company has changed, and it's struggling. It seems we'll have layoffs every 6 months, and it affects all indiscriminately.
