Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

So many issues!!

  1. HR are dumb and do not have a backbone to fire idiots!

  2. Core value are crap.. we don't live in the 20th century. Might as well post the values on top of the toilets and crap on it! Nobody follows the dumb values.

  3. Upper management are all about their own image. Go do your damn job and learn WTF your guys are doing.

  4. Top down management. Stupid middle managers without degrees doesn't know how to run anything are making dumb decisions and tasks.

  5. The company talk about being efficient and use data scientists to analyze it. They cannot even get good data or know how to! Who hired these idiots to be data scientist!!? They are not even computer scientists!

  6. All the talents are laid off. No wonder talents are quitting

  7. Wasting money on Marketing.. everybody know we s---s at our jobs! The facts shows!

  8. So much more!!

HR is the worst, literally a revolving door. I have talked to 3 or 4 that are just waiting to leave.

You can feel a difference in the environment and the way things are going. Hopefully things can come back around.

Everything usually comes full circle, but usually to late or with a wacky twist. Enjoy the people that fail upward, while you succeed downwards.

Awesome ethics, good luck.

Moving them to Houston before they shut down Denver. The one guy is going to the EC. He was the only hope for Rockies Management.

Maybe the data will help management avoid Any more expensive disasters that have drained the company of billions, including pretending that the oil downturn wasn't real. But even the best data is only as good as the people who use it. And the key people on the EC aren't really oilmen. And most of middle man agement rose to their positions by supporting the leadership with cult like enthusiasm and by cultivating their own followers, not by finding more resources or capturing markets or improving the bottom line with greater efficiency. Case in point, last quarter's earnings.

anadarko is adopting many "best practices" of big oil including the very trendy use of data analytics. I'm not sure if the board member really adds anything except to advertise to the institutional investors that anadarko is a treasure chest of untapped value. what good will years of data from assets that have been sold be to us gas fracking operations?

This site has gone from a sincerely believable source of intelligent comments to self righteous stupid malcontents tit for tatting.

A wise man once said, "It is better to be silent and thought of a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Oh almost forgot also 6) Cutting dividend 7) Losing money quarter after quarter 8) Failed acquisitions!

OH GLORIOUS DATA SCIENTISTS AND "EMERGING TECHNOLOGY", PLEASE HELP US UNDERSTAND WHAT WE SHOULD DO!

They may have a separate group but the guys running it are total jokes. Yea we have that Silicon Valley clown on the board, big whoop.

Maybe we should just stop wasting money on wasteful crap (Data Scientists aka engineers with no job expectations except to make PowerPoint decks), unprofitable projects, and layers of mid level management and just run the damn company so that we can grow, pay the dividend, and not kill people?!?!

Investor Relations just wanted something to distract everyone from the 1) Asset Sales 2) Withering performance 3) Continued Layoffs 4) Falling Production 5) Exploding Homes. So they tout this bunch of data scientist crap. All they did was give a bunch of database guys and engineers a new title and act like they will get new results. The results speak for themselves-- total bull. STOP WASTING RESOURCES ON THIS. Get back to basics.

Incompetence is the new requirement for VPs at APC. All the good ones are gone. Sad to see what was once truly the best places to work now the absolute worst. How is no one being held accountable for absolutely destroying the value of one of the best acreage positions in the Permian Basin. People are breaking their neck to get out of here and I don't know how much longer I can take it.

Yep, the company is going down the tubes. Who are they paying to write reviews on Glassdoor and The Houston Chronical to be voted "best place to work." Hah! Middle management and HR don't want to face the serious issues going on. It's easier to turn your head the other way, and pray for no lawsuits.
