Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

It's a great day at South University

With all of the negative things written about the EDMC/DC deal I just ask that everyone open their mind and eyes to what is happening. At South it is nothing but great things. Leadership is filtering out those that would hold us back or bring us down. They give us a strong foundation for the future. They have a great knowledge of the business and how to motivate and lead a committed group of individuals to desired outcomes. I for one am thrilled to be in the position that I am in at South University. I don't know much about the group in Phoenix but in my three years in my role in Pittsburgh things have never been better. I just want to thank all members of leadership for their commitment to us as well as our students.

Something I've learned is not to debate with someone who is delusional. It's a mental illness. Have pity on them. For the rest of us who are sane, they end tally of winners and losers is obvious here. In the winning column, CEOs and their leadership teams, lots of cash went there. In the losing colum, the majority of students, the majority of ground level employees and the US taxpayer. So yes, the leadership team was gifted at getting the money and I'm guessing at rationalization and justification.

What's the difference between someone who succeeds and someone who doesn't? The ones spending their time in here do not. The ones who focus on students do. So get the F off here and dial peon.

What's the difference between a south employee and a carp? One is a bottom feeding scum s---er and the other is a fish.

I just want to give a big shout out and say thank you to our leaders today. My boss hasn't been here in 3 weeks, no one will tell us what's going on but my bosses boss did stop by for student updates. I'm doing fine, thank you for asking. It is difficult and flat out s---s working for someone who really could give 2 sh--s about me

Stop with your lies. Our leaders make every move and decision with the absolute highest amount of integrity. Students are never accepted into programs that they do not meet the admissions requirements to be in.

AG agreement is still being violated. Students still being lied too. Students still being allowed to enter programs they don't qualify for. Federal dollars still being accepted to pay for said programs. Exposure will happen. Hammer will drop. Get out now. Nothing has changed.

Leader for the people? HA! She's lazy and clueless. Without PC here she's gonna fail like never before. Her dumb a-- hung him out to dry and got him fired. No we have to sit here with no help and no sign of anything getting better. Even if the rumors that he's on disability leave and not fired are true, he's not coming back. That much has been confirmed. Start fixing this mess now please.

Responsible for the mess? No way Jose. They are the ones who have us in a position to succeed like never before. Cut the jealous envy and stop hating, follow their lead and you will do great things. The SR DOA leads this floor like no one ever has. She's a leader for the people, always sacrificing her time and efforts to help others succeed. It's a great day at South University

Our "leaders" are responsible for the mess we're in right now. If burning once flourishing programs to the ground stands for great leadership, then these guys are brilliant. I look at empty rooms and near deserted halls every day I'm here. Our full time faculty have been winnowed down to a handful of people. We're trying to make do with adjuncts. That doesn't count for success in my book.

Go peddle your flowers somewhere else.

That was well stated. With the exception of one part. You mentioned that these leaders could get on the phone and hit plan. Our RVP in PHX does not have a degree which means he would be unable to secure the role of AR.

I do not understand why a mockery isn't being made of all of this? Why are our leaders chastised for being good at what they do? They worked hard, day in and day out to get where they are. Stop hating and learn from them. Every AM, SR DOA and RVP we have could get on the phone tomorrow and hit the next plan. Think about that and when you show up for work tomorrow make sure you thank your leader for putting you in a position to be successful.

Regardless of the metaphor, I'm sure the leadership will always remain dry and safe. It's the rest of us who'll deep six it. Now, why don't you go back to your master like a good little doggie and beg for a treat. I'd say you've earned it.
