Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Create Value for Shareholders - Spin Off MCBU as a Separate Company!

Think about how much MCBU could be worth as an independent, without the burden of Chevron Management and processes. Lower drilling costs, lower opex, less red tape. Heck, it could double its Proved reserve base right away by following standard industry practices instead of being controlled by the incompetent twit running Chevron's reserve gestapo.

That would also give JW more time to focus on his "big hitters" like Big Foot, Gorgon and EGTL.

A spin off the CVX Permian assets is not a new idea, it was actually was put into play with all of the Arco permian assets. The deal was killed when Arco was sold to BP. The spinoff would not delute the CVX stock but would only increase it due to a lower cost environment and happier workforce.

Chevron has saddled themselves with rules and regulations, employees are sick of the constraints and they just want to work, the exits interviews will tell you that.

Well Safe is a deal breaker, this is not a fit for purpose program, do it or die.

Yes let's undiversify the Company, folks have great ideas on here. I vote to remove JW, let this board serve as the board for CVX

If you spinoff MCBU into another company, you essentially weaken the CVX stock that is Chevron. That doesn't sound like a solution at all. If you are a Chevron employee or a stockholder, you are not doing yourself any favors. It's a good thing you're not in charge around here.... (err) please tell me you're not!

I recall a long and colorful thread on what an idiot the new reserves guy is. Personally, I don't know him, but I did interact with the arrogant Unocal re-tread he replaced, so if he's worse than him, he should probably go. But posting your complaints on a Lay Off Board won't get you anywhere. Take you issues to the VP of Upstream Capability. I'm sure they'd be happy to move him to a job in HR where he can do no harm. They probably have a long list of equally unqualified future leaders on the list for his succession plan.
