It seems to me these are individuals with extensive backgrounds in for profit education who realize that business model is not sustainable. In going not for profit they skirt massive expenses and I believe will still be collecting hefty pay checks at the expense of the US taxpayer. That's my two cents anyway. My guess is the deal will go through, because Republicans will support it. Years from now it will be investigated by some other administration and it will be found that billions of dollars went down the drain while a handful of greedy men got paid. Doing good, helping the disenfranchised etc has been the propaganda keeping the money train rolling since the beginning of this soul destroying mess. I predict an uptick in this type of propaganda but I don't think the statistics will change unless they turn these schools into trade schools.
I'm glad the PostGazette is looking into this. No one else seems to care, and this deal, which could affect thousands of students, needs some serious investigation...
