Do you have more information about layoffs of assistant managers at Kmart for 2017. The way I see things, this position carries quite a bot of work - not sure how they can do without us.

Store I worked in had 2 leads that were kept on. One would kill her sister if the store manager said she had to, to keep her job. The other one was a bully. As was the store manager. No real management abilities. Last I heard the asm was still there. He stood around and talked all day while the two leads enforced the rules. For the most part, he was useless. But, he kissed the butt of the bully store manager. Funny we had to take online classes about not being bullies and the biggest culprits were management. Our store manager was a bully in the local high school, now her kids are and she would let them come in the store and bully the employees. The employees knew their job was on the line if they didn't go along. Sick place to work. Manager was not worth $10 and hour.
The one I work for have a asm manager and about 5 key holders, but our part-time employees know more than the leads.
Do you have salesfloor supervisors in your store?
Those positions ultimately will replace asms. One in softlines, one in hardlines.
