Does anyone know if unvested RSU's are released if you get layed off?

Only in fairy tales. I lucked out by taking a job elsewhere before the rest of you get the green packet.
No. unless you are a vp or prez.. then they give you your RSU plus a super happy happy package
nope, they go into Paul Jacob's Bentley's gas tank

You lose them, they are not vested therefore not yours to exercise.
