People don't shop at Advance Auto anymore. i get parks from Rockauto and Amazon for 20% to 40% less. That is why the layoffs are happening.

Why rip on someone for saving 20% for shopping online? You don't know his/her situation.
Look at the corporate salaries, very little of that part is going to the pockets of those actually doing the work. Nice try though. The people doing the work are being laid off and the people at the top controlling the horrible culture at AAP are still there and you're ripping on someone who shops online? You have your priorities in the wrong place. Since leaving AAP I have not Nor will I set foot in another one of their stores again. I'll take 100% of my business and go elsewhere.
The 20% saved will go to my childs college fund. Never before did we have to start saving for college when a child was born. Advance Auto is expensive. The same 5 quart oil container at walmart is 8 dollars cheaper. I can see if 1 dollar off but this is huge savings.
Saving money at Wal-Mart destroyed the mom n pop small business across this country. Saving money destroyed manufacturing in this county and took with it 10's of 1000's of job's. Now Amazon will destroy the brick and mortar retail across this country. In the end Amazon will destroy itself when no one has a job and can't even afford cheap stuff pulled, packed and delivered by robots.
Spend that 20% you saved very wisely Dumb A$$.
I work for AAP and I try to buy all of my routine maintenance stuff for my cars in the store, but unfortunately we don't carry everything for my imports or my domestic cars I own. So I have to order from aftermarket companies online or go through the dealerships. It is just the nature of the beast...
The extra $ is feeding families and paying for the boxes we work in. Keep being a cheap a-- and I hope you enjoy when everything has to bought online and Noone has a job! Why are people so selfish these days?
