RVP got the axe yesterday, very sad day. As well as Regional customer account manager, who was just recently recruited from another retailer. Advance Auto Parts is cutting costs to make up for their past mistakes and to help satisfy the stockholders dividend payout that just happened this week. Bail out while you can, stock is plummeting.

I started out in parts with a regional parts store that got bought by big A then Carquest. I left after 5 years to work at Western Auto which had a 4 bay shop. I went through the change to parts america and the sell to Advance Auto. Sears ran us down and Advance picked us back up. I loved the fact that they came in and sat us down and told us we respect your history but we are now Advance Auto. there was no fighting in between the former two companies we were one team. The founder of Advance would be upset I think to see what it has become. After Advance bought Carquest that is not what happened and should have I saw it in my district and in my region so much so I got sick of it and left autoparts altogether and that is all I ever did after 25 years. The 2 companies started out just like every other company that is now Advance with someones dream to start a business to take care of customers needs. nothing more, nothing less. Very sad to see
As a 30 year employee of CARQUEST who left a year after the merger to Advance im not surprised that this happened again. I still work pt in a store and see inventory being pulled down daily. Employee don't seem to be as sales regardless if you make money or not. A RVP told me that he didn't care what anyone made with CARQUEST when i complain about compensation changes. I was out in 90 day after that comment.
