Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

For me, the writing is on the wall

25+ yr Sperry hand here. I see myself going soon. Justified, probably, but only because I'm the only one left after layoffs and the divestiture fiasco. Sperry has changed over the years, that 'can do'spirit has been slowly replaced with process documentation and training/communication via PowerPoint. There's still good people in place, just burdened with the behemoth of processes and layers of mgmt. that can affect everything you do. This market has been tough for the last 3 years, I'm lucky enough to be prepared for anything that may happen. I see a couple of products that will make big differences in the future, but they will also come under that same burden of what has become the behemoth of doing business under HAL. Sperry never participated in the Permian boom, they just now got people in place this year, this is just an example of how this behemoth moves. I predict that they will find the Mom and Pop companies are running circles around them while they try to manage their processes. I really feel sorry for the younger employees that have not experienced what it's like to operate freely and get things done that make common sense to do.

Sperry is a revolving door for VP's. As long as they collapse pricing they are okay in the eyes of other PSL's.

Just met a Sperry PLM that looks like a Zombie cast member of The Walking Dead with a British accent.

I've told you baby, from time to time

But you just wouldn't listen or pay me no mind

Now I'm movin' on, I'm rollin' on

You've broken your vow, and it's all over now

So I'm movin' on
