If you want to blame anyone, blame the wild rose for spitting the vote.

Republicans are in charge...

Yes in the united states. The post was addressing today's layoffs in canada, where the lib-retards and ndp-retards are in political power.

Both of our pm, here in canada, have failed thier businesses classes, but did well in arts and crafts.

Cenovus is a dead co. No pipelines to coasts, no provincial or federal help, truly what was cenovus thinking to beat 13b, with oil at 45/bbls. Good luck to all going into this nightmare

You don't need to bet on it. It's the fact that O&G industry won't die. It's at the end of its life cycle, but still has couple solid decades to come.

Electric cars have been on the market for decades now. Have you bought you personally? I guess the answer is no. However, my family does own one from Tesla. The reliability of the car during winter is far below any cars I've owned in the past. Let alone the price tag is approaching true luxury category.

No doubt the battery technology will gain some momentum in the future, but in the foreseen future I don't see how it can replace fossil fuel at all of the industries, especially in construction and transportation.

The main issue nowadays is US vs. Canada. American companies are betting on the shale oil and they will try anything they can to destroy Canadian oil sands industry. Giving the fact that our provincial and federal governments are bunch or liberal morons, the doom day for oil sands, specifically for Alberta is one the way.

BUT, keep in mind, not the O&G industry is done, just us, Calgarians. Better vote smart next time.

calgary is a spec compared to the rest of canada.

Cost of elextric cars will be cheaper...battery tech will become better.

Or stay in oil - up to you...i am not betting on it

Within next few decades, fossil fuel is still going to be the dominant. Do you honestly believe majority of the population can afford a $100K Tesla? Even the price can get down to $50k, the home battery charging pack and maintenance is going to be a huge headache. Additionally, what kind of energy source you are going to use for diesel truck? Airplanes? Military weapons? Don't tell me thousands of batteries....you will sound dumb as a donkey.

Besides after this past winter, do you honestly believe in "weather getting warmer"? It's the coldest winter in Calgary over last decade. Use your brain to do some critical thinking and most important: read some books. You will see why politicians and left wing liberal SJW has hijacked some peoples' brains to making them believe in global warming in order to achieve their own political agendas.

Electric cars are the future. Weather getting warmer so no need for as much gas heating your home.

Get out of a sinking industry.

Be smart see where the world is going. MananGenet lies as you've all seen

Oil is not the future. Be smart
