SLB Career ladder
1 Work hard in the field, get a pay cut and have to do the work of three people
2 Become a Manager, fire the guy in the field as you need to protect profits this month do two jobs at the same time. Get stock options worth nothing, do a good job get transferred to a bad location to replace someone who get fed up s---ing up. Get fired by your actually ok boss but he had to pick someone, unlucky.
3 Become a middle manager or function manager, Fire good people to make profit, get crappy stock options worth nothing. Get fired in re-organization after someone has to be fired to save money. Unlucky?
4 Become executive, Hire 800 people to a transformation to protect your career. Fire middle manager as incompetent to cope with the 3 jobs you gave them, Invest in transformation more to buy more protection. Get fired for coming close to telling the truth, but you have a nice yacht but you wanted a bigger one, join a competitor.
5 CEO, cut cut cut and protect yourself. Survey staff happiness, tell them firing largely over (nobody believes this) . 3 months later commence firing again.
They'll award you options at $94/sh and tell you how valuable you are.
Plenty to choose from within SLB, they are just all busy with their advance project. Bah,bah, bahhhhhh.
I agree. Leave if you can and don't look back. SLB does not value you, and never will. There are still companies out there who do.
Not a fan of SLB......never was. The rumor for years is that they hire cheaper and once raises bring up pay scale to replacement level, lay offs start again. Friend of mine worked for Cameron and loved it but was let go after long time investment with CAM, no loyalty left at CAM, all blood running blue in their veins. Heart attack in the future for SLB, no recovery expected. Will not attend funeral, will not send condolences. Look for work while other places are hiring. My friend went to different field and was hired that day, more money, better folks.
Order theyre just posting to meeting the federal law to make external interview before choosing a poor schmuck internally for a 4% raise
Either way,lose
I saw a job posting online for SLB that says they were hiring a MFG engineer in Sugarland. So it seems SLB is at the point they cant find people within.
