pretty messed up company with a great asset. Zero communication throughout te company due to being top heavy.
"intitlement" facepalm please leave already
200 from Calgary. 100 at Surmont.
I was a heritage Burlington / Poco employee and remember when COP bought BRC and how all the Conoco people were quick to let us know how we didn't know what and how to operate. Its to bad COP has run this company into the ground excessive spending , mass amount of procedures and policies, layers on layers of leadership , and employee's with intitlement issues it's sad sad times . Upper management should be very proud of what they accomplished.
@1fjs: COP has been trying to dilute or get out of Surmont for a while. Nobody wants to pay for it or else it would be long gone. This is now an unwanted asset, being worked by an unmotivated staff, led by an untrustworthy leader.
With Surmont under consideration for sale, it seems COP should exit Canada entirely.
Survive or not, I'm looking for a new job
350 is more than I expected :0
Regardless if I get let go or sold to the new company, at least I'll no longer be working for this sinking ship.
Does anyone have numbers on how many will be left in Calgary? If any?
Thanks, corrupt and incompetent ELT.
With a couple of hundred at site that means what's left of the Calgary Staff could work out of the fitness center in the Basement...
Good luck to all.
950 -1000 off of Canada COP pay-roll by May 15
No one has final numbers on anything as per how many staying etc.
What we know is 585 we're offered positions at cenovus. (No idea about contractor numbers)
300 will be terminated in the next week with an additional 50ish staying in temporary roles for transition work (again no idea about contractors) and then cut at the end of that period.
So in total approx 935 full time employees will be either moving over or cut entirely.
I had heard but cannot state for sure that there were around 1250+ full time employees in canada. If that number is true then we can extrapolate the new org at the end of all this will be around 300-350 people.
Again no idea about contractor numbers
Little confusing with all of the number s flying around...
Does anyone have the total number of employees left after all the sales and layoffs are complete?
Does anyone have any layoffs by Org? IT? HR? Finance?
700 totals
350 of the people after the ones that cenovus took?
Who will be left?
350
care to share? How many?
I do.
