Making of the Kmart V.E.R.V. Bus
Kmart had three goals in mind when it joined forces with West Coast Customs to create a first-of-its-kind virtual reality bus: 1) design a ridiculously awesome, out-of-this-world mobile experience; 2) make the experience appealing to Shop Your Way members, customers and families alike; and 3) create a bragworthy experience that can be shared socially.

Aligned with our goals, West Coast Customs designed and built Kmart’s Virtual Experience Recreational Vehicle (V.E.R.V.) equipped with the latest in virtual reality gaming technology and design, including digital screens, unique product displays and a gaming lounge. To date, this bus has entertained thousands of current Shop Your Way members plus new members. It made appearances at 20 of our Top 25 stores, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Super Bowl and the OK! Magazine Party at the Oscars. We’ve generated millions of impressions of social content from celebrities and NFL players including, Ne-Yo, Mario Lopez, Ray J, Scheana Shay, Kenya Moore, Warrick Dunn, Matt Light and Roy Williams.
