..."like so many other successful companies do"...yeah and those companies are competitive on prices and have integrated computer systems and registers at the p.o.p that all communicate to make things more efficient..not a bunch of crap we are playing around with to play catch up

You have no clue. WFM has way to many products that don't sell. If you are in a million plus store with only 3 DPI deliveries a week you will run out of product. As always lets blame the store level TMs.

I'm at an SOP store and our shelves aren't empty. We just don't have a ton of product in the back. That's proper ordering like so many other successful companies do.

totally relevant, UNFI has become our worst nightmare....short dated product, mispicks, out of stocks...you can tell they were stupid enough to buy in to the "whole foods domination" theory years ago

Actually, vendor layoffs is an indicator of demand. UNFI is laying off folks. Analysts use trends at UNFI to gauge the health of WFM because of major partnership between the 2.
