What Share Prices Indicate

Share prices of any stock represent the price one private party is willing to pay another private entity for a share. Share price in no way indicates the underlying value or health of a company as the company has no access to funds from traded shares unless it buys the issued shares back.

Question: If someone owns the majority of the stock, say 50.01 % and they buy lots of shares how can any other investor believe that the stock is really worth the price and not believe it is being menipulated or at least being held up in a false manner? Really, dont understand how SHC can have so much bad press, bad finanicals, not make money for over 10 years, have so much bad press, have so much bad customer experience..... Yet, still seem like they are doing O.K. as far as the stock price is concerned.

True. There are all sorts of trading games going on with any stock, so short term fluctuations mean very little about the fundamental condition of the company. Usually longer term trends are more meaningful, such as the drop of SHC stock from $180 to under $10.

Correct. Many on this board do not understand the simple fact of supply and demand. 78% short. Rest owned by Bruce and Eddie.
