Instead of incessantly complaining on this site, why don't you all get organized and strike?! The Board of Directors and the Management Team will not pay attention to your plight until you do something that takes some of their power away. Either fight for what you deserve or quit like failures. But. Just. Stop, Complaining.

There are very few leaders, and those that are, want you to follow their vision. They will squash your creativity and make you follow them right or mostly wrong. Mattel asks for innovation but leaders want you to do their ideas so they can get credit from their superiors. Trampling the innovation, so they can work their way up.
The part you are missing is that they are all "at will" employees unless you have an actual contract like son do at higher levels.

there are no leaders. None in management or in the disenfranchised work force. And I don't mean just at Mattel. Why is that? I'm trying to become one in my community so that I have a better neighborhood but it seems like everyone is so busy trying to tread water that they don't have any time to change anything. At least that's what I'm told. Something's got to give at some point. Maybe we'll have more time when the robots take over our jobs. But then how will we pay for our basic needs?

I applaud your thinking, but the reality is that this site is exactly what you are suggesting. They have now power to prevent us from telling the world exactly what we collectively believe needs changing.
This site exposes the truth and that truth cannot be denied. I believe that the Board and leadership team know that things need to change. What they don't know is what those changes are and how to effectively make them.
