Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

H1Bs are the modern slaves, work them 12+ hours, 7 days a week and pay them less than non-H1Bs. They will not complain otherwise sent home

H1b is nothing but cheap labor

The day Americans started to work like h1bs.. h1bs won't be hired

All the mid to senior managers in qualcomm were one time h1b slaves and thus they know the system and tend to hire only h1bs

Nothing wrong in this... not the h1b holders fault or company fault

This is the fault of politicians who are sold out to big companies

And politicians are elected by average Joe

If as you say they can't accomplish the goal in a 12 hour day that which could be easily done in 45 minutes or at most 3 hours, what's the issue again?

I'll give you a hint: it's the ridiculous tendency to over (and that's being nice) -inflating of degrees, skill sets, and pretty much anything else you can lie about to get the job. Don't whine that you end up struggling 12 hours later, jacka**.

As for being sent home, given the above why would that final step be a mystery?

I have a different view - prove your worth with your work product, and people will immediately recognize that. It is really that simple.

That's if you call sitting around the lab being a wanker working. Or taking a long lunch working.

Showing up for work at 10:30, long lunch at 1:00, little gym time, leave at 7:30, tell wife how hard you are working - that as a definition of 12hours/7days is a hard sell to the sane portion of the world.
