Wow, just sat through ANOTHER pointless company strategy meeting. I mean there was a bunch of 'When the industry turn were gonna be well positioned to do this and we'll positioned to do that'....blah blah blah. How about instead of blowing millions on developing Next-gen nodes and an idle seismic crew, we cut our losses and reinstate our effing pay?

He is never going to change his mind, whatever happens. Go tell him there might be a better way and see what happens. Incompetent senior management who cannot listen to reality is what is happening here. Anyone remember the Aram acquisition? What about the decision to get out of the land business? (Land is where all the money is now). This management team will continue making stupid decisions until we go bankrupt.
So tell me. What is really going on?
There'll be no "turn around" and top execs know it well.
Thus they blow smoke up a$$es until they're ready to bring down the axe.
