Thread regarding Sears layoffs

DieHard Auto Center

I live near one of the new "Diehard" Sears Auto Center in San Antonio. Having never visited the location, I can only share that when I drove past it at 9:11 am and again at 2:14 pm today, no customer vehicles were in for service. In the morning, I did not see any employees (perhaps they were in the office?); in the afternoon, I counted six, huddled together talking story. If SHC thinks the auto centers can survive by simply changing their name, my flybys suggest they're a lost cause.

The company has gone completely nuts on this name change stuff. Diehard is a good name for a battery, but doesn't make much sense when it comes to general auto service. It's still crappy service regardless of the name. The public isn't as dumb--sHC management.

I think people hesitate before coming to Sears for auto service now & a new place? Why would you? Word has gotten around. This sounds mean but I'm not surprised with what you saw.
