Worked at lowes for 11 years, at 58 lowes gave me the notice that I have until January 2018 to find a job. The CEO still makes his bonus. The only reaction we saw is that the stock low went up by almost 10 dollars. Where is the media ?

1 yr notice for a 58 yo to apply somewhere else --NOBODY WANTS SOMEONE WHO IS 4 YRS AWAY FROM RETIREMENT ANDF LETS NOT FORGET EVERY SINGLE F_ JOB IS PART TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that is what is sad. Media is too busy falsifying information about our new president, or playing up the "racism" and "prejudice" stories. They show what they want that supports their idealogical or political views.
You are lucky to have this site to express what you feel and share what you know.
The traditional media is failing the US worker.
All we have left are alternative sources of information like layoffs.com
You are very lucky, after 14 years I was walked out with NO NOTICE.
Hang in there.
Ones on maternity leave received a call to let them go.
Lowes discrimination is unbelievable
Niblock makes millions while the hard working employees that gave many years are tossed to curb
At your age bracket might want to consider taking a slightly lower position just to make it until retirement. If I was you that is what I would be doing. The company s---s big balls and use them as much as you can..
Yea, agreed, consider yourself lucky that you weren't layed off on the spot like most.
You got almost a one year notice of your layoff???? Count yourself lucky and start looking for a much better job.
