I tried to file a lawsuit when I was laid off but unfortunately to get the severance package you have to sign a waiver. So if you're a person who needs the money to survive until you find another job you are really forced into signing the waiver. And I can tell you from experience signing the waiver forfeits your right to sue.

I had a well-documented s-xual harassment claim that I had been working on for a year.

I knew that my coworker who was one wrong of the latter higher than I was, was essentially trying to feed me to the sharks before the sharks got to her.

My manager saw it as well but there wasn't much he could do as there aren't many women in the QUALCOMM workplace or technical. So they will typically fire 30 guys one after the other to try and find one who could work with a difficult female.

I guess everyone wants to be the last to be eaten.

Don't sign that waiver if you are intending on selling. However if you don't have the money to make it, you're kind of between a rock and a hard place.

When there is a choice between letting American citizen go or H1B, it's the American citizen who is chosen.

QC lawyers are a perfect example of why lawyers have a very bad reputation - no morals will do anything for a buck including getting on their knees and bobbing to keep their job. On top of it they couldn't litigate their own cases if their lives depended on it.

Data data is the key!! Keep proof of all discrimination practices and / or emails is very important for the case to continue.

It's generally much easier to prove gender discrimination than discriminatory layoff practices. Or perhaps I should say it's much easier for a business to HIDE discriminatory intent in a layoff.
