If a merger should go thru what is the latest news on what division of Cabelas will experience layoffs and how is severance pay going to be figured. I would suggest experience and work history be a major facture. Also typical averages could be used

I am a long time employee at Cabela's in 2008 shares was trading at around 5 dollars a share and Cabela's had to lay some employees off. Cabela's became known as a very comparison company to work for with as I heard a one year severance package was rewarded to long term employee's with a good work record. In 2014 Cabela's as tom stated Cabela's rewarded employees with severance package's which would enable employees to take a different directions in their lives. I am judging from past history and it looks like to me Cabela's will make sure employees are treated extremely fair if lay offs should occur.
With Ganders bankruptcy and sell off, the chance of a Cabela's / Bass Pro merger is greatly lessened from a monopoly standpoint. On top of that, Tommy has screwed cabelas up so bad, bass Pro would be a fool to continue with the deal as originally signed. It would be a recipe for disaster. If that does meltdown, corporate will be decimated. Best plan, start looking for another opportunity now, seriously. Tom and his crew will take any money that is left and not share.
