Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Friends & Family 3/12?

Is this only in a certain district? Is this a joke?

It's not posted online, and no emails?!

Sooo....how are people suppose to know?? You can't send a few employees out to every police/fire department, local schools, etc. and expect a big turn out.

Poor marketing, planning and waste of time.

Wasn't any different than any F and F.

I'm surprised anyone is complaining. Either you are new to retail or new to Sears.

Every retailer I have EVER worked for raises prices to lower them for a friends and family event or their version of a friends and family event.

I really don't understand why everyone is surprised here.

Exactly how they raised prices right before we lost the discount.

If you noticed they give 15%off but they raised the prices 5-10% the week before. They did the same thing for veterans day. Pathetic.

My store handed out fliers yesterday, the day of, to customers. We had the flier a few days before so it would have made sense to try to get the customers to come another day. Not later in the same day. Who is going to do that???

It seemed like 15% off and most of the weekly fliers have 20% so the savings were less than normal for softlines.

My sears app notified me on 3/12 at 6pm (that's right, 6PM) that there was a Friends & Family event, and never got a Email (I even did a search for one) or text. Maybe this was a secret event just for who ever the employees invited!

Well, I forgot to invite anyone. I'm bad at party planning....

Kohls and Biglots blows their Family events up! So many emails that I get sick at seeing them. Sears doesn't seem to be trying, but yet they want US to bust our as* to get numbers when no one comes to the party!!

There are some regional department stores in my area that do a friends and family type sale once a year. It's a big deal, they are packed and if usually goes on all weekend. Sears had a good Friends and family years ago. Now it has totally been abused and lost its meaning.

yeah lets do friends and family on a work/school night for parents at 9pm when the mall closes at 6pm. Everyone is pumped to get out to Sears late on a Sunday night for all those must have items.....

I jumped ship as a Sears associate nearly three years ago. And I've been watching from afar to see the trainwreck from a safe distance. Sounds like it's coming pretty soon.

As an employee, I had never been more mistreated than by this dinosaur company with a very sick organizational culture.

How the mighty have fallen.

Original Idea- Have a Friends and Family event every week- The only people left that might visit the stores, and the employees (relatives) don't even want to be there!

Not so special when these "Events" are done so often-

Not so Smart Clan with another Not So Smart Plan!

This is the same company that keeps their stores open til late on easter, keeps their doors open around the clock on Thanksgiving, and the last to close on Christmas eve in order to try to make a buck. Even though sears and kmart lose money everyday just by being open

What is a waste of time is keeping Sears open tonight to 9:00 p.m. for Friends and Family sale, after the mall closes at 6 ,it will be a ghost town , who comes up with these ideas? Not anymore who is stuck working the night shift.
