Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

DC Strategy for The Art Institutes

The Agenda for The Dream Center is to run South and Argosy. The Art Institutes will be reduced to a fraction of sites that are most profitable. After this transition the ADA's will begin recruiting to a lesser degree so that Instead of closing these schools directly they, The Dream Center, will teach out the Ai's.

Management feels it will require too much time, effort and costs to bring them into alignment of their ultimate vision.

"If they didn't want the Ai's they wouldn't have bought them. . ."

They wanted South and Argosy.

Ai was a part of the EDMC package.

Clearly you don't know how bundled auctions work -_-

"The Art Institutes will be reduced to a fraction of sites that are most profitable", in what measurement that qualifies the campuses in question? Does it scale according to the amount of programs successful or will some of the campuses convert into a specific program campus?

I'm sure we all read the article but what does it mean? It could mean that they are going to re-brand the school or close it. We don't know. So please stop stirring up things and just tell us who you are and how you came about this info. Thanks!

Unfortunately for all of us this issue is not B.S. The DC will be in control and they are sure to see the need to trim anything they deem a drain on resources or things which do not align with their Vision. I cannot even imagine GED being taught at an Ai. Also, it was mentioned in several news stories that "The Art Institutes" are not in alignment with the DC vision.

I wonder how Ai online will fall in to all of this? I would imagine it is more profitable (with less overhead) than the physical campuses.
