Thread regarding Sears layoffs

2016: Transactions: what we learned Do our customers really want to be members?

Apparel transactions declined by -8.7% vs LY

Member transactions declined by -11% vs LY

Non member transactions declined just -2% vs LY

If member transactions decreased 11% and non member (customer) transactions only decreased 2% has anyone stopped to think maybe our customers dont want to be members.

To Serve, Delight, and Engage our Members while they Shop Their Way! This is a bunch of sh*t. Sears is not letting members shop their way, Sears is telling members this is how you are going to shop if you want to do business with us. The numbers speak for themselves. Members are leaving. Customers are coming.

The credit applications are the worst. I hope Citibank sees a big default rate from this. They deserve it. I'm sure they'll write it off but they should feel the pain from this pushing reluctant people into credit cards.

Sears should be thankful for any CUSTOMER that takes the time to walk through their doors. There's not many left, the numbers are dwindling. What fools are up at HQ to condone harassing CUSTOMERS into becoming "members"? They are driving CUSTOMERS away.

Without CUSTOMERS there will be no more Sears or Kmart. Oh, right...Eddie and Co. aren't interested in the retail, they are interested in liquidating real estate and brand equity. Got news for him, it isn't going to be quite the payday he was thinking of. A huge chunk of the Craftsman sale proceeds will be going to the PBGC so that the pensions are paid.
