Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Store Closing March 2017

My store is closing on March 26th, we have really been busy. We also have a lot of apparel merchandise in the store. We could be open for another month to sell everything off. but I think we will close on the 26th. It has really been crazy with all the customer in the store. If you go through a liquidation get ready to be busy. God Bless to everyone still at Sears, hopefully Mr. Lampert can turn it around.

My store also will be closing in the next couple of weeks. Associates not showing up for work, some have left the building, not coming back. Theft a problem. No help in BC, and not enough cashiers. We have a good management team, trying to be there for the associates. Some of us are glad to get this over with. The joy of not have to ask people to apply for a Sears Card, and NO SYWR or Email. We have some much merchandise in the store, that we received from other stores, IST. We should have been done selling merchandise, but with the other merchandise, it is keeping us in business. The FJ Dept is all most done with selling jewelry. The BC not order anything, selling from the sales floor. The commission will be on their benefit rate starting the 12th. We are about done.

Our Kmart store is also weeks away from closing the doors. Lots of softlines shipped on clothing at 70%. Store shrinking fast.

Wondering how moral is at other closing stores and how they are being ran?

We have HR doing schedules on Friday, no help. Unlicensed associates driving the forklift. Receiving door being opened by non keycarrier without mgmt present and after 5pm. (Trash...right??)

Associates doing what they want. Eating on floor at Customer Service, registers etc ...

Leaving early without ...the list goes on and on.

Theft is rampant.

A few more weeks we can make it...

Won't miss any part of this job at all.

The most ridiculously ran operation ever encountered.

My Kmart store closes next week. Due to the liquidation, we're up $2mil so far in FY17 and still 3/4 of the sales floor is bloated with merchandise. Softlines are now 80% off and hardlines has finally hit 40% across all categories. Liquidations are run extremely slow at SHC - don't expect the merchandise to sell quickly...especially if your store continues to receive DC shipments and 'garbage shipments' from other stores until three weeks prior to your closeout date.

If Eddie the Randian hasn't done ANYTHING by now (and clearly he has not) to revive SHLD, why do you think he'd start now? Nope, mno is right. He's liquidating, and he'll get first cut of whatever money that will bring

He has no intention in turning the business around. Just liquidating.
