I've decided that working for Sears is like clinging to a floating turd for safety, and hoping it saves me from being flushed. My morale, like Sears, is in the toilet.

Well, don't just walk out the door without first (openly) tucking merchandise beneath one or both of your arms. After all, most Sears stores no longer have the Asset and Profit Protection Managers (APM), who would be responsible for thefts. And, many stores don't have their Loss Prevention Associates, (LPA), who would also try to watch their outdated and broken surveillance cameras for possible theft. When thinking about it, why be concerned with theft at all? The executives have been doing it for years !
I, along with most people, can do more than retail. But ultimately, there are jobs for people who have intelligence and are willing to put forth the effort. Incidentally, I put in a few apps, and already got a call. Since lunch.
You guys had best take a good look around at whats going on in retail across the board, as well as the business in general. Turn off the TV and start doing some digging.
Things are about to get nasty, very nasty. Hold you paycheck as long as you can and start thinking about how you can severely lower your standard of living.
Even the market and regional managers all feel degraded and demoralized. The know they are the walking dead and the end is inevitable. The company has now hit rick bottom and at the point dont matter if they file bankruptcy or not the company will implode and crumble on its own.
I hate working where I feel the ax can fall anytime.
I applaud you. I am about to do the same. I like my SM, and I urge him to do the same. I am just so tired of the way things have become. This place needs to be torn down.
I opened the store as MOD this morning. When the actual manager showed up I told him that I had to go and walked out the door. I didn't say that I quit. I wonder how long they will pay me?
