How many people and which departments of Cabelas do you think BPS will relocate? How many and which departments of Cabelas do you think BPS will get rid of?

Quad does not do BP's marketing. I am close with people directly involved in both companies, and that is not true. BP uses a combination of in-house creative and services from RR Donnelly and other vendors.
However, BP is interested in what Quad is doing with Cabela's here in Sidney...
I have asked this question to the poster who every post claim bass pro will fire everyone when they take over. I am curious are you a ex employer who Cabela's will not let in the door.
My guess:
BP will cut ALL Cabela's employees. Face it, Cabela's isn't doing that great on its own, so those employees aren't probably going to be considered assets, instead you'll be seen as part of the problem.
They will have zero need for redundant positions and departments. This time RIGHT NOW is when they are filling the positions they foresee needing when the deal closes and figuring out how to pick up the ball when the hammer drops. Quad already does BP's marketing, so the Quad people will return to their main location and the people who shifted from Cabela's to Quad will be left in the dust. I think everyone with hopes for having a job at Cabela's when this deal is finalized is living in LaLa Land. Best of luck everyone!
It'll be interesting to see how many people are left with the merged company. Last I read was a significant presence in Sidney. What does that mean 250, 500, or a 1,000 employees? Redundant departments will be consolidated and excess workers eliminated--could be Bass workers too that are eliminated. Excellent time to keep the best of both companies. Who knows how long the integration will take if the merger goes through. A lot of corporate politics to work through before it's said and done. Large mergers rarely work out as planned. FTC isn't done with their review, so if you're happy where you're at, keep plugging away. If not, look elsewhere to calm your nerves. No matter how you look at it, everyone is taking a hit on their assets--except maybe, the renters.
I hope and pray that this we left behind after our great leveling will find employment with BP and a solid future for thier families.
Cut your "tans" for dust rags. All of you are rats on a sinking boat at h.q.
BPS has their own staff and departments in place. Sorry, but I've been thru this several times with other retailers. RIP
This is a great topic to discuss. I feel that BP won't need our HR dept, they already have one. They also have their own marketing dept, merchandising dept, boating dept, and communication with 75% of the same vendors that cabelas corresponds with currently. They have their own asset protection staff. My guess, some employees with in the firearm dept at corporate are safe, beings BP is not nearly as involved with firearms s as cabelas. With that being said, BP will still pick and choose only a handful of them, they won't need nearly as large of staff. They are concentrating on downsizing and methodically and strategically triming employees right now to make their plan as cost efficient as possible. Yes, several Cabela's employees have significant value, but the vast majority are not needed.
They will allow people to apply for MO based jobs although corporate will be shut down quickly
