Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Highly Reliable Organization

A high reliability organization (HRO) is an organization that has succeeded in avoiding catastrophes in an environment where normal accidents can be expected due to risk factors and complexity.

This seems to be the newest concept around Conoco. Not sure how they are going to pull this off considering the only thing that is reliable is layoffs. And if they had succeeded in "avoiding catastrophes" we wouldn't be stuck with so many overpaid people with ratings of 4.

ConCo has been HRO positive for a long time. HRO= Human Release Organization. Companies that are HRO positive are perpetually releasing or laying off employees.

The only things that are highly reliable at COP:

(1) The ELT are over payed and should be terminated with cause,

(2) There are going to be more employee reductions,

(3) Management and most employees have no clue as how a real Independent operates,

(4) COP will continue to hemorrhage money even after the announced asset sales,
