When we see these degrees in my HR office they are treated as sort of a post HS completion program. Similar to taking a GED course after HS graduation.
Nobody counts it as real college. Sorry.
I get that we dont really sell fake degrees but most people still regard them as fake. If they were even considered equal to ASU there woundnt be an issue. But to the average person in charge if hiring when they see University of Phoenix on a resume they think its something fake that was purchased off the internet.

We do not sell/provide fake degrees; however there is no question it is fast-food education. Not very healthy (or cheap in this case) but fast and filling. Students graduate with a lack of depth and breadth, and often skills. This worked when there was little competition in the adult sector but now traditional schools that have much more depth and breadth are quashing UOP. And of course we use part-timers to teach who have little grounding in theory and in many cases practice. Would you want a surgeon whose career was something other than medicine operating on you for extra income or because they liked medicine? I would never recommend someone go to UOP or any institution that featured the exclusive use of adjunct faculty. And certainly not an accelerated program where accelerated really means fast and superficial. Give me a professional educator; someone who has chosen to make it their career.
