Does anyone take them seriously? Spirit values? What a joke. Full of mid level management who lie outright and will shove you in front of bus at a moments notice. Conoco promotes pretty people with the technical depth of Walmart greeters. Lying scheming snakes. Leadership? I guess if you consider coercing people to parade around in your various hyped up programs to destroy value. Cross functional swim lanes? Let's put 80 people in charge of a job that should take 1 good technical person to do. Wait you all want your technical people to be part and protect your empire. We need to protect all 80 layers of management who have such a good track record of making decisions and setting strategic direction of the company. They'll tell you whatever they need to motivate you then shxxx on you when they've road your back to whatever the next level is.

I don't wish anything bad to hardworking people, but I hope a takeover by Exxon or BP will eliminate all the useless managers and specially the overrated VPs (specially the ones in technology). They do nothing - they make up objectives, praise made up results (they cheat to get by and justify their VCP).
With the record high cost of dry holes last year, the so called earth scientists didnt add any value to the company. The entire company can just be run by dozen of hardworking employees (not to mention the lazy fat in Norway and U.K.).
